Social Media is a big waste of time

I’m sure you’ve all heard of Twitter and Facebook and what about My Space or Linkdin and Plaxo. The list goes on and on and every where you look it’s twitter this or tweet that.

Those that know us, know we’re big into Social Media and actually have been for a long time. We began Blogging way back in 2006 and started on Twitter in January 2008 so you don’t need to sell us the benefits of Social Media and how it can dramatically make a difference in our career. I know it first hand but still people shrug their shoulders and chuckle when I talk about Twitter and push out my listings on my Facebook page and some say it’s a fad, that I am wasting my time or worse yet that it is all just playing.

Okay then, so be it. Think what you want but do me a favor and watch this video.

I agree 100%! It baffled my mind when people think it’s a passing fad.

I can’t tell how often I’ve heard those remarks. I think it is most definitely here to stay.

I have found jobs, blogging buddies and more via twitter and facebook. I don’t see them as fads I certainly agree 100% they help a business and a professional out BIG TIME!!

BTW – You left a comment on my blog looking for NH bloggers. I am going to be working on something to feature New England bloggers on my site, just working out some kinks with my new design but will keep you posted!!

Well Monica sorry as I’m contradicting you but I think its just the beginning of social media storm…It has to go a long way …Its too early to say that what its going to take shape in the future. I read in WPN that big corporate giants like Yahoo, MS and others who use use social media for their business has increased 18% more business than those who didn’t use social media. Even Google is testing with it.
