Summertime in New Hampshire, hot lazy days and blue sparkling water go hand and hand

Many people often ask me where they can go to cool off in New Hampshire. Especially when we get those record hot days and everyone wants to flock to the water to cool off.

beach-rosesNew Hampshire has lot’s beaches and parks, some located on lakes and others right on the ocean.  Probably one of the best sources of information is VisitNH.gov it lists public access water bodies for those of you with boats and pristine lakes and idyllic ponds.

New Hampshire offers water sports and activities to please everyone.  You can Jetski on both the ocean and some lakes, take a boat ride, hike to a waterfall or just relax on the sand and enjoy the beautiful views.

Summer temps is not the only thing heating up in New Hampshire

Enjoy summer in New Hampshire and when your ready to look at some homes for sale in New Hampshire give me a call and we can talk about the $8,000 tax credit and the benefits of home ownership. New Hampshire’s real estate market is hot!

Professionalism in Real Estate

Professionalism in Real Estate…sometimes I just have to wonder.

Yesterday morning (Saturday) I wrote a purchase offer on a Bank Owned home. This home has been on the market for 3 months and has had a $20,000 dollar price reduction.  After writing up the offer I called the listing agent to let her know about the offer, she wasn’t in so I left a voice mail message. 5 hours later I called again and left another message.  As of this morning I still have not heard a peep from the listing agent. I know the offer can’t be presented to the Bank until Monday morning…but how about a courtesy call back? I have to wonder…is she really representing the best interest of her client?

If you’re thinking of listing your home for sale, ask your agent about their procedure for follow up calls, how accessible are they to co-brokers? Do they have an after hours contact number on their business card? In this market cooperation is crucial.

About a month ago I called an agent whose voice mail message said that he would be returning all calls on Monday …I left a message anyway and thought to myself how nice that he could take 3 wholes days off. Monday came and he never returned my call. I still haven’t heard back from him…my buyers went on to buy something else.

MEME- It shouldn’t be about ME, but today it is…

I got tagged to write a meme by Blog by the Bay’s… Ginger Wilcox. Are you wondering what in the world a meme is? Well basically, in the blog world, a meme is a question that is asked on one blog and answered on another.
SO in this meme chain, Ginger tagged me and asked me to (1) list 7 things about myself, (2) tag 7 people to do the meme on themselves including a link to their site. It is all in the name of good fun, and probably helps with “transparency” too. So here are 7 random things, all about ME! After all, why else would it be called a Meme.

Monika Mcgillicuddy1. I arrived in the United States when I was 5 years old, after a week and half at sea. I don’t remember much of the trip except the killing of a whale, which was very gross, and when leaving the big ship being in a huge scary hallway. I remember walking along the hallway with what seemed like thousands of other people. I was afraid because I could hear crying up ahead. As we got closer to the end of the line I could see a nurse who had this god awful huge shiny needle. I knew it was meant for me and I tried to escape. No luck … before I could even push at the woman, the huge needle was stuck in my arm! Man did it hurt and I cried, screamed is probably more like it. Welcome to the United States of America. Technology for a New Tomorrow

I love technology and thanks to Brad Andersohn I am able to show you through you tube the technology for a new tomorrow. Back in the early 1970′s while in high school I can remember my Algebra teacher Bonnie Winokar showing us a computer that calculated math equations and I thought that was so cool. Then as I got older I was able to watch the personal PC evolve. I first learned how to use an Apple IIC then I wanted to get a more advanced computer and we purchased a MacIntosh. I wish we could have stayed with the Mac but because of a lot of real estate applications needed to sell real estate we had to turn to Microsoft and applications that were compatible with the PC.

Spooky Thrills and Yummy Candy… 2007

Visit here for the 2008 Halloween schedule

I wish I was still a little kid because I absolutely love Halloween!

I love watching the little kids walk up the driveway…listening to them laugh in excitement.

I remember spending hours sorting through candy when my kids were little…sometimes sneaking my favorite pieces of candy out of their bags. LOL…sometimes I got caught doing it and my sons, Marty and Mikey would make a big deal out of mom stealing their precious candy.

I used to dress up to hand out candy…Scare all the kids who rang my doorbell. It was a blast! Read more
