Should I buy a home now or wait?

Often times Jay and I get questions from prospective buyers about whether or not they should buy a home now or wait. It’s really not something we can answer specifically as every buyer has a set of unique circumstances. But generally if you have good credit, some savings a secure job then the answer is yes.

Don’t let all the negative news scare you off. If you’re ready for home ownership then now is a great time…if not then wait a bit.

Interest rate are great…the best they’ve been in many years and inventory is plentiful.  In Hampstead NH for example you can get a Cape style home with three bedrooms for $184,900 or a waterfront on Big Island pond for under $300,000.

Plus a key thing to remember is that home ownership is a great long term investment, especially at these prices and it is still one of the quickest ways to  gain wealth.  So if you’re ready to take the plunge then now is the time to talk to a southern NH REALTOR about all your home ownership options.

Scan me…go ahead I dare you!  QR Codes in Real Estate

You may have heard about QR codes or maybe not. It’s relatively new as far as being used in real estate and while stores have been using bar codes forever on their products some REALTORS are just now discovering this very cool application.  Before you can scan a QR code you do need to download an application on your smart phone…and any smart phone will do.

Go to your application store or icon  on your smart phone and download a bar code reader. We use  the ZXing Bar Code app on our Droid. The applications are free and they allow you to use your smart phone to scan the information.  As my good friend Ray Nellum stated on his Fort Smith Real Estate Blog

Within this code, you can scan the image with your smart phone, and easily visit and bookmark my website. You got that right.  No pen or paper needed.  I don’t know all the in’s and out’s about it, but I know it’s WAAAYYY Cool!!!

Way Cool QR Codes in real estate

Way Cool is right and not only can you scan websites and book mark information without the need of pen and paper or a super memory but can you imagine driving by a real estate sign or picking up a newspaper advertisement and scanning the QR code for all the information you need?

We plan on implementing QR codes on all of our listings by adding customized sign riders with the homes exclusive QR code and since we do our own creative videos and virtual tours on all of our listings we will add the QR Codes to that as well as flyers and direct mail.

Social Media Mavericks

Jay and I also utilize social media to market our properties, sites like FaceBook, Linkedin,Twitter to name a few and you can be sure we’ll be using QR codes there as well. We’re sort of Social Media Mavericks… at least as far as New Hampshire REALTORS are concerned. We like trying new things and certainly think that can benefit all our clients.

65 Million Americans are smart phone users

65 Million Americans now have smart phones and with free Apps and QR codes you can just imagine the reach it will have. At this point Jay and I are probably the only New Hampshire REALTORS embracing this new technology so while other REALTORS are left wondering what the heck is this all about…we’re already all over it!

New Hampshire the beautiful

This is pretty cool… NH tops as the best state to live in!  New Hampshire Rocks, of course those of us that live here already knew this!

Thinking of buying or selling in Southern New Hampshire?  Check out these rates as they are totally crazy and the lowest I have ever seen them!

Awesomely low interest rates

Currently a 15-year fixed rates is around 3.8% and 30-year fixed are just a little bit higher and home prices are back to about 2000- 2001 levels!  If you’re selling a home remember that what you can buy today will more than offset any loss in gain in your current home.  For buyers there really is no better time than now and I am not kidding!

Inventory is plentiful and for a buyer with good credit so is mortgage money!  Check out New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority web site for details on the program at http://www.nhhfa.org/ oh and don’t forget that first time home buyer means that you have not owned a home in the past three (3) years!
