Deadly Nights Silent Alarms
Scary stuff here but something that you all should be aware of… Ionization versus Phototelectric Alarms. According to Skip Walker in the April issue of Inspector enews which is a California real estate inspection on line news letter there is potentially some major issued with smoke alarms that we rely on to keep us safe in our homes.
Skip spoke at the recent Risk Management committee meeting that was held during the National Association of REALTORS convention in Anaheim Ca., and his presentation really opened my eyes.
I am not an inspector but felt it important to pass this info on to you all so you can make your own decisions about which smoke alarm you feel comfortable relying on especially when one has potentially a 30 to 90 minute slower alarm time on smoldering fires than the other and we all know these things tend to happen at night when we’re all sleeping!
