The whole town enjoyed the Hampstead New Hampshire Christmas Parade 2009

The weather held out as the town folks gathered to watch the parade!

It was very cold and shortly after the parade started, snow flurries joined us. Which was rather fitting as who doesn’t want a white Christmas.
Ice Storm 2008 interrupts a celebration
While watching the parade I couldn’t help but reflect on last years parade. It was held during the infamous Ice Storm 2008 and while the parade was a welcome respite many people stayed home or found someplace warmer to visit. Click this link if you’d like to watch the 2008 Hampstead NH Christmas Parade Video.
The video below shows bits and pieces of the Hampstead NH Christmas Parade 2009 … I hope you enjoy it!

Hampstead New Hampshire ~ A true gem

Hampstead NH~ a gem of a town
Thinking of moving to Hampstead New Hampshire? I often get asked what it’s like to live in Hampstead and my usual response is once you see what we have to offer you’ll fall in love with Hampstead. I hope that this post can help you “see and feel” a little of what I see and feel everyday about living in Hampstead.
Hampstead NH a bustling little community!
I’ve lived in Hampstead since 1972 and watched as the town has grown from a small village to bustling little community.
Even with all the development and conveniences of a much larger town…shopping, restaurants, function halls, community activities, a lovely town beach and recreation fields, Hampstead still has that special small town feel.
Swimming, recreation fields, town planned activities Hampstead NH has it all!
Hampstead also has town wide tennis courts, two health clubs, a memorial gym, where town events like the men’s basketball league plays and some wonderful walking trails.
Throughout the year and especially in the summer there are many community wide events. From weekly concerts to a gala July 4th celebration and annual holiday parade, there is something to please everyone. All this plus Hampstead boasts a great Southern NH location and is part of Rockingham County.
Hampstead NH offers more an ideal location!
While our location is certainly ideal, we are also just 30 miles south of Concord, 30 miles southwest of Portsmouth, and Boston is just an hour south of us.
Hampstead traditionally has enjoyed a strong resale value, even in a buyers market and is known as a desirable town due in part to it’s proximity to the border of Massachusetts thus creating an ideal commuter location.
It really couldn’t get any better than Hampstead where a quick 30 minute ride east will find you enjoying a fine ocean beach where you can create wonderful sand castles and enjoy the picture-perfect coastline of New Hampshire.
Travel an hour north and you can be skiing and exploring our beautiful and majestic White Mountains. Outdoor activities like camping and golfing to please even the most discriminating golfer are all within a few miles of Hampstead.
Hampstead NH offers more than a community…It’s a lifestyle!
Our town motto is ‘Please slow down and enjoy our town.’ When you come for your visit I’m sure you’ll understand why. I think you’ll find our state nearly picture perfect with a quality of life that invokes all the feelings of yesteryear yet with all the amenities a busy lifestyle demands. This is a perfect time to buy in Hampstead as we have a wide selection of homes available in all prices ranges
Come visit Hampstead NH and stay a while!
I hope I’ve been able to describe Hampstead, to make it come alive for you and show you why your next home should be in Hampstead.

Buying a New Hampshire Bank Owned Home

On Friday March 7th Monika and I closed on this bank owned property in East Hampstead, New Hampshire. It had been on the market for just a few hours when our buyers called us and said they they wanted to see it.Our website extracts listings from our MLS a few times a day so our customers and clients can see what is new to the market quicker than most other websites out there.
Our Buyers had just had a bad experience with another bank owned property in Hampstead where the bank’s management company took over two weeks to de-winterize the property and for our buyers time was of the essence. After much delay our clients finally walked away from that property and moved on.

Hampstead NH versus Home Owners

Hampstead, New Hampshire Lake front property owners win a giant battle against the town.
In case you missed this piece of news, a yearlong battle regarding year round status was recently decided at the Rockingham County Superior Court. The case involved a local couple trying to sell their shore front properties only to discover that the town of Hampstead had declared the properties as “seasonal”. Seasonal, even though the tax assessment card, long used by REALTORS and residents alike, to help determine the status of a property made no reference to being seasonal. As a REALTOR one of the first things we do when taking a listing or doing a CMA (comparative market analysis) is to go to the town and pull the card. Read more
