Southern NH Lifestyle Camping In New England

Spring is in the air and summer is right around the corner and with that comes the start of the New England camping season. In New Hampshire we have a short camping season so those of us that love camping and outdoor activities take advantage of it as often as possible. Living in Southern NH and the Seacoast area offers a wide variety of camping choices and that is just one of many reason why you should consider this area for your home.
I’m going to do a series of posts about a few of the special campgrounds and RV resorts that we love to visit starting with Salisbury Beach State Reservation. Salisbury Beach State reservation is a huge state run campground on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Merrimack River.
While this is a no frills campground it usually books up fast and you need to book at least six months to the day to get a reservation. This campground is far from a “resort” type campground and to some may look like a big parking lot but it offers some awesome memory making opportunities. Play ground, boat ramps, fishing, beach combing and just plain enjoyment of anything beach related can be had. Some of the camp sites run along the road facing the river with fantastic ocean and river views, others are further back. But no matter what camping spot you snag the ocean is a short walk or drive away.
We often spend time at the “river” beach when we camp at Salisbury and hopefully this short video will show you why.
