One week into the new year and we’re still busy. Today I taught a Dual Agency class up in the Concord area and had an opportunity to talk with some agents about their market. Everyone is pretty much saying the same thing…It’s like a water spigot opened full of buyers ready to buy. I spoke with a home inspector and he told me that he is booking inspections well ahead of he did during this time last year. One mortgage broker told me the she took two applications on New Years day alone. Everyone is very optimistic..albeit still cautious and today it almost felt like a spring day. I know it was nearly 60 degrees but it was more than the weather, more than the hype surrounding the primary. I haven’t seen prices this affordable in years. There was a new listing today and when I saw it I took a double take …the price seemed so low. It’s a bit of a shock after years of high prices to suddenly be able to find affordable homes for first time home buyers. I think the state of real estate is improving in our area.
