Recently we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the new Rick’s Pond View Restaurant in Kingston N.H.. We had received a gift certificate for Christmas (2007) from my son Marty which was for the original Pond View restaurant. The original Pond View closed shortly thereafter and I thought I would never get to use the certificate. I also thought it was pretty crappy that my son was sold the gift certificate to begin with since they had to have known that they were closing the doors.
The Pond View recently re-opened under new ownership and as an example of the power of Blogging, I found out from readers of this Blog, that the new owner would honor the previous owners gift certificates. Which by the way is an awesome good will marketing gesture and I am so glad that they made that decision. Thank you Rick’s Pond View!
Jay and I went during their “soft opening” and I believe they are still working on fine tuning the menu, pricing and such. We had a very romantic dinner over looking the pond. I loved the lighting, the romantic mood and perfect table settings. We sat by the fire place and enjoyed the evening very much. The menu was ala-carte, which is not my favorite, the selections were very good but I thought some where a tad bit high in price. We both ordered Prime Rib, queen cut and found it to be very tasty. We never checked the lounge out which I understand has a different menu. If you’re a lounge lizard you might want to make a trip to Rick’s Celebrity Lounge.
I hope Rick’s Pond View finds much success , we plan on going back and would recommend anyone looking for a special night out to give them a shot. The wait staff was super friendly, our waitress went above and beyond the call of duty and she seemed to genuinely want us to enjoy our evening. I felt pampered!
