2013 Special Olympics Penguin Plunge at Hampton Beach NH
On Super Bowl Sunday (Feb 3rd) the annual NH Penguin “Plungers” will once again jump into the frigid waters of the Atlantic Ocean… all in support the NH Special Olympics. This group of dedicated folks will join Emperor Penguins Mark Ericson and Karen Kiley from WOKQ’s Morning Waking Crew, along with WMUR-TV 9′s Chief Meteorologist Mike Haddad as they jump into the ocean in various states of undress.
2013 theme is Going to the Chapel
The Plunge starts a noon, fitting since they will be Going to the Chapel, but we would suggest getting there early to secure a good parking spot and as well as a viewing spot. This events attracts a lot of people so space may be tight. If you’ve never watched this event you’ll be for a treat…there is something exciting and hilarious about watching “adults” and children alike, all dressed up or maybe undressed is a better description, in theme type “costumes” and jump onto the ocean.
