Penn State beats Michigan Oct 18 2008

A wild and wacky weekend at Happy Valley!

We drove down to Penn State, an eight hour ride, to spend the weekend with friends and attend the Penn State- Michigan football game. The game was highly anticipated as Michigan has whooped Penn State the last nine times they’ve met. The tailgating was awesome with over 1100 camping units and god knows how many cars parked all over the place. I must say that the fans were all just great…I saw Michigan and Penn State fans party side by side with a lot of good natured ribbing of course.

Santa and Toys for Tots and a Pumpkin contest were just two of the incredible tailgating set-ups that we saw…and the food- oh my god! The food was something else and of course the drinking was pretty intense too. We had a great time albeit way too short. We left New Hampshire on Friday morning and returned on Sunday afternoon. Talk about a marathon trip!

Wow – those pumpkins are pretty funny! Who’d a thought you could do all those things with pumpkins anyway?

Glad you had a good time – bet you sleep very well back at home again tonight…..

Carole…You should have seen the lines of cars trying to leave. We stayed the night in the camper and left in the morning. No traffic at that time.

Moni – the pumpkins are not the only x rated here – those gourds seem quite riskey also! I heard the game was a blowout in favor of Penn State. The Marth’s must be excited.

Judy…LOL they are pretty risky! The Marths are besides them selves with happiness. It was a fun-quick trip and Jay did all the driving. 8 hours down and 8 hours back!
