Leaf Peeper…The time is now

The best fall colors will be this coming week so hurry up to New Hampshire’s majestic White Mountains to enjoy some awesome fall foliage.
New Hampshire has long been known for it’s awesome fall colors and trying to gauge just when the right time to go leaf peeping is can be extremely hard. This year we’ve had such a dry summer that I’m afraid our traditionally rich colors may be a little muted. Even muted the red, orange, yellow and green leaves that dot our beautiful country side is a sight to see. Nothing beats a day trip to the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Here is a neat tool that I found that can help you decide when to head north. We know a few days makes a big difference in the colors you’ll see.
So if you are you a leaf peeper… this is an awesome site for mapping out the “At Peak” times.

Jay and I were up in Bretton Woods NH at the Mount Washington Resort this past week.
It was the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS annual convention and what a perfect spot it was.
We took a few photos and even though the colors were not at peak the mountains of New Hampshire are just breathtaking!
The Mount Washington Hotel was undergoing renovations while we were there and even with all the heavy equipment around, the place is just incredible.
We even had a ghost sighting…on the 3rd floor of course. The convention was great and the ride home was perfect. I hope you enjoy my pictures….can you imagine what it might look like at peak?
Ghost information for those that have asked for it… According to Shadowlands :
The Mount Washington Hotel is Haunted by Princess Caroline, the original owner. She writes on walls.
The Mount Washington Hotel in the Lobby – There’s a little Feral Girl.
The Mount Washington Hotel in the Madison Room – You can Hear Babies Crying.
The Mount Washington Hotel , Room 206 -A Malevolent lady is believed to haunt this room.
I’ve heard that Princess Caroline also haunts the Tower room. Jay and I stayed in the Tower room when Jay was president of the association…we never saw anything unusual.

It can be kind of freaky walking around the hallway knowing that the place is haunted. But really it is such an awesome place that you can over look a ghost or two.
How beautiful Moni. I took a wonderful road trip to see the fall colors in New Hampshire and Maine a long time ago. I remember laying outside in the White mountains and looking up at the star filled sky on a brisk autumn night. You live in a beautiful state.
Thanks Maureen, it is pretty here. Sometimes I forget just how pretty it is. Thanks for stopping by.
Makes me want to run up for a visit. I enjoy a little color touring and photography now and again.
Thanks Lane. I was hoping to get back up there when the colors are at peak but it looks like I won’t make it this year.
Ohhh Monica,
New Hampshire is GORGEOUS and so is your blog right now. I am partial to BLUE – so good job!
Your state is so beautiful! I love the changing of the colors. We had ours change last month in the high country. Now I’m looking at snow covered peaks. My neighborhood trees will be the next to turn.
Hi Debbie,
Thank you for stopping by. My husband just switched my blogs theme to this one. I like it but miss my banner photo and with this theme I can’t have one.
KK…I imagine your views must be simply incredible! But snow already…wow I am not ready for winter?
Beautiful Pic’s and Beautiful blog! I love fall and you do a nice job of promoting it and your state!
Monika, New England is so beautiful this time of year. Your blog captures the beauty of New Hampshire. The layout and colors match the beauty of your location
Thank you Apella. I love living here so it really is easy to promote.
Mitchell…Thank you for your very kind comments
We have some friends that live in Bow. My husband has been to your lovely state and talks about how beautiful it is. Once the kids get a little older, we plan on visiting as I have never been to the area. We would most likely visit during the fall as it is our favorite time of the year!
Thank you Jennifer. Be sure to let us know when you come out here! We’ll take you on a tour.
