Ouch…NH Drivers Face Stiff Toll Increase

New Hampshire has just increased it’s road fee and this is not welcome news for New Hampshire drivers!
NH has some 93 miles of turnpike to take care of and the highway repair bank
Not too many people are happy about the increase!
I know we’re in a tough spot, we need the money to repair roads and make them safe but no one wants to dig into their pockets to pay for it.
The Hooksett and Bedford Toll increase went from 75 cents to 1.00
Pretty much a 25 cent increase across the board except for the Hampton Tolls which took a 50 cent jump. Going from 1.00 to 1.50 each way…double ouch!
Now that hurts!
Especially for all the travelers heading north to Maine or back to New Hampshire and points south.
I think they love to gouge the vacation travelers. Anyone traveling through the Hampton tolls knows how backed up they can be.
October 22 2007 is the day the new tolls take effect and I’ll be curious to see just how well we do with our road repairs.

Tolls are the new rumor here in Oregon right now they are non-existent – however, rumor is they are coming soon. When I travel, it is always confusing to me on toll roads – because we simply do not have them.
Thanks for stopping by These.
It costs us a fortune to travel our roads and with all the toll money collected they don’t seem to get any better!
