NH Wind Storm 2010

NH Wind Storm 2010

On Thursday night February 25, 2010 New Hampshire was hit hard by a wind storm.

The wind knocked power out to most of New Hampshire, in fact the Governor of NH declared a state of emergency.  The town we live in was out for days.  Jay and I got power back after nearly 3 days without on Sunday night.  We were lucky as some in NH are still without.

We were able to stay in our motor home which has a generator and a gas fired furnace. It did not have running water, nor is it insulated or set up for cold weather so as you can imagine it was a difficult time but at least we were warm and could cook.

I took a few pictures of the storm to share with you. The storm will go down in NH history as it was “wicked windy” and like the ice storm of 2008 effected many in NH.
