Chester New Hampshire is one of those quaint little New England towns where there are no traffic lights just a two way stop sign.

There is your typical general store on one corner a cemetery on the other the old town hall on the third and a church on the fourth.

If you are hungry stop into the local diner for some home style cooking and as you leave stop next door to the hardware store.

Single family home sales in Chester were up 16.6 % from 2010 to 2011. Home sale prices were down 2.2% from 2010 to 2011 which is far less than most other towns. Average days on market were down by two weeks compared to 2010.

If you’re looking for something super fun to do then take a drive through Chester New Hampshire and be on the look out for all the Scarecrows that are all over town!  They will be up for the entire month of October with the exception of Trick or Treat and they benefit the Chester Historical Society.

Last year I fell in love with the scarecrows that were dotted all over town and this year does not disappoint. Some of the Scarecrow displays are simply awesome… I think the folks in Chester really outdid themselves and let their creative juices flow.  Come check it and enjoy a wonderful fun event.

Driving through Chester the other day I noticed some pretty interesting looking yard decorations. Chester residents and businesses, especially those along the main roads always seem to go all out with holiday decorations. They have an annual Holiday door contest and now for the first time they are having a Scarecrow Contest to benefit the Chester Historical Society. I couldn’t help but to stop and snap a few pictures but I’m sure I missed a few…so if you’re a Chester resident or business owner that I missed I would love it if you sent me  a picture of you’re scarecrow to add here. Chester New Hampshire… Holiday In The Village

Holidays in Chester New Hampshire…a very special time of year.

Three Non-Profit organizations in Chester have pulled together to once again bring you a fun filled festive afternoon guaranteed to get you in the holiday mood.

The Holiday in the Village will take place Saturday December 1st.

Christmas in the Village begins at 9:00 am at the Congregational Baptist Church Vestry and will feature craft tables selling holiday decor, handbags, candles and much more.
