The Effengees ~ a true garage band

The Effengees… much more than a garage band
Last weekend Jay and I along with fellow REALTOR Judy Tuscano and her husband Mike went to Nottingham NH to listen one of our fellow Prudential Verani REALTORS, Tom Duffy, jam with his band The Effengees. I’m not sure what I expected but to say that I had a blast would be an understatement.
The Effengees rock the garage
Not only did they rock the garage and everyone in it but they were pretty good and very entertaining! For a local home grown band made up of a group of guys and gals, that could be your neighbors- they were a total surprise. In fact one of them unbeknown to me, ended up being one of my neighbors! I can’t wait to attend their next jam session and if they play any gigs, I would attend in a heart beat! Check them out for yourself… I recorded three videos and a slide show with some pictures of our evening with The totally cool…. Effengees!
The band plays on with some cool members and guests
Vocals, guitar & keyboard – Tom Duffy , Lead guitar & harmonica – Dan Mathis, Bass- Dave Renouf, Drums- Dave “Stick Man” Finn, Vocals & guitar – Bob Forman, Guest Keyboard- Colleen Cotski and guest vocals Micki Mokos.

Southern Breeze at The Famous Legends Sports Bar & Grill

Back again on Nov 25 2009!
Join us on Oct 23 2009 as we enjoy a little Southern Breeze!
A friend of ours, Joe Zalgenas, will be playing at the Famous Legends Sports Bar and Grill in Raymond NH on Friday night.
His band is called Southern Breeze and they are a Lynyrd Skynyrd/Molly Hatchet type cover band. They are not a country band who simply plays a little rock, instead Southern Breeze is an electrifying 5 piece local NH band.
Jay and I will be there to watch the show along with Joe’s wife Jan, who is a member of the REALTOR
family at the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS and a good friend of ours. If you stop by be sure to come over and say hi.
If you’re curious about the band check out Joe’s MySpace page for photos and demos. Joe plays bass and is an excellent musician as well as an all around fun person.
Southern Breeze with Joe Zalgenas on bass will put on one heck of a great show and I sure am looking forward to a fun night out. Come join us in Raymond on May 8th, Oct 23, I think the band starts at 9pm.

New Hampshire Association of REALTORS 2010 President Monika McGillicuddy
I’ve been a little neglectful of my blog as I’m sure some of you have noticed. My life has been a little hectic lately and more than just real estate wise but it’s all in a good way. The real estate market has picked up especially in the 1st time home buying arena but I’ve also been busy in the REALTOR Association level. Many of you know that both Jay and I are involved REALTORS and have been for many years. For us being a REALTOR is much more than simply a means to making money. We’ve always believed that the way to make a difference is to be involved and that sitting on the side lines complaining does nothing to make things better. So we both have taken an active role not only in advocacy for buyers, sellers and fellow REALTORS but also in protecting private property rights for all NH home owners. That involvement has paid off in more ways than we could ever have imagined.
Monika McGillicuddy installed as NHAR 2010 President
This past September 21st I was installed as the 2010 President of the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS with Jay, my parents and children by my side. It was a special night for me as many of my REALTOR friends, fellow REALTORS from my office Prudential Verani and about 100 colleagues from all over New Hampshire attended the banquet.
2010 will prove to be a year “On the Rise”
I look forward to helping lead NH REALTORS in the year 2010, as together, we face challenges that are yet to be defined. One thing I feel pretty sure of is the fact that our real estate market will continue to improve and while I’m sure things will still be challenging we are definitively ” On the Rise” 2010 will be a better year for many.
Never too busy for you
While my duties as President will keep me busy at times, I still need all of you. Listing and selling real estate in southern NH is what I do day in and day out. Your referrals and continued support is very important to me and I will never be too busy for you. So remember if you or any one you know is in need of real estate service give us a call. Jay and I would be honored!
My Installation was held on Monday September 21 2009 at the Grand Summit Hotel and Resort in Bartlett New Hampshire. I was installed by my husband and past 2004 NHAR president Jay McGillicuddy.

It’s been incredibly busy here in DC and it seems as if all I’ve done is run from meeting to meeting pretty well all day long. I really wanted to post today but simply didn’t have the time…so instead I thought I’d share some of the images of our DC REALTOR conference.
