Is it time to move south

Winter is comingIs it time to move south

It’s getting closer and closer to that time of year again, winter. Are you prepared for winter or do you think it is time to move south ?

If you are thinking of moving south Monika and I can help you reach your goal. Monika and I have been in the real estate business collectively for 60 years. That’s a lot of experience to get your house on the market, sold and help you move to a warmer climate.

Marketing your home for sale

Once you contact us we can make an appointment with you to come over and give you an opinion of value to determine your homes value. We will prepare a comprehensive marketing plan to position your home in today’s market to maximize your dollar value.

We compare your homes value to similar homes that are currently for sale and homes that are currently pending sale and to reach the true value we compare your home to homes recently sold. Homes that have recently sold really tell the true picture of what your home will sell for in this market.

Helpful hints to prepare your home

Here are a few helpful hints to get your home ready for winter. Make sure your furnace is cleaned if you heat with oil. An oil fired furnace should be cleaned every year. If it’s a gas furnace you should clean at least every three years. If you are having problems with your furnace call A & H Heating and Air, they can fix your furnace Make sure your fireplace and heating chimney are cleaned. Do you have gutters? Make sure they are cleaned as well. You’ll be surprised at all the debris that gets stuck in the gutters especially sticks and leaves.

Do you have the older style storm windows on your house? Take a walk around the house to make sure sure there are no air leaks around the frame.

One thing that people don’t realize is if you have screens on your windows take them out or push them all the way up. Why you ask? With the screens up it actually allows the sun to warm up your house by allowing the sun’s warmth to fill your house with passive solar heat.

Make sure your shovels are in good condition and you can find them. Tune up your snow blower and make sure your plow is ready to hookup if needed.

Now that you have your home ready for winter and you finally decide to move south we can find an agent for you that will help you find your new home. Just give us a call, text or email us.

It may be pretty but nothings makes me ask…  is it time to move south more than some cold snowy days

Multiple offers-price increases and a vibrant southern NH real estate market

Gate to home ownership How’s the real estate market?

Everyone and I mean everyone, always asks that question and when we answer, tell them that the market is heating, that we’ve hit bottom, that prices are starting to increase and we’re seeing multiple offers again, they can’t quite grasp it. It’s been a Buyers Market for so long that it’s hard for them to imagine or believe that we are in the beginnings of a Sellers Market.  This market is moving fast and it’s time to dive in!

Time to Jump Off That Home Buying Fence

Truly, if you are in the market for buying a southern NH or seacoast area home…. the market is going to pass you by if you don’t jump off that “home buying fence” and act.

Don’t be one of those buyers who look back in the rear view mirror and wish they had bought back then!

Please call us at 603-944-9172 and let us help you realize your dream of home ownership.

Should I put my house on the market now?

House for saleWe always get asked this question around this time of year from sellers who are on the fence about selling their biggest investment, their home.

“Should I put my house on the market now?” What we often hear is “I think we will wait until spring.”

There is no right or wrong answer here but I can tell you the spring market is no longer the beginning of April as most people perceive it to be.

We believe that now is the best time to sell your home. Why, you ask? Because, right now inventories are at their lowest level. Most sellers have taken their homes off the market for the holiday season and usually want to wait until spring when most buyers will venture out after a long cold winter to look for homes. Most people get cabin fever and start to look once the weather get warmer, that is true. But, I will also say we get lot’s of buyers that need to move during the holiday season and are out there looking. So, while inventories are low why wouldn’t you want to take advantage of less competition out there. Interest rates are still at historic lows and prices are starting to rise a little on average.

Monika and I have been selling real estate in southern New Hampshire since the mid 80’s and this trend has been consistent throughout the years. Sellers want to wait until spring and when there is a lot of competition out there that will give buyers more to choose from. Now is the time to get your house ready to put on the market. The ideal time is right around Thanksgiving when most sellers start pulling their homes off the market. Most people fix their homes up for the holidays as they usually have friends and family over so why not take advantage of that time frame by preparing your home for sale.

So, if you are on the fence about selling now is the time to list and we recommend you contact us for your specialized comparable market analysis.

If you want to see what your competition is like check out the up to the minute listings of homes for sale in Rockingham County below. They are presented to you by days on market. Newest listing are at the beginning.

Apple Picking and Home Selling in Southern NH

Apple Pie and Ice Cream

Apple Picking and Home Selling go together like apple pie and ice cream.  Everything looks so much better nestled amongst all the vibrant fall colors and it can be a perfect time to list your southern NH and seacoast area home for sale. Many towns have town wide events that can really showcase a community and many home owners decorate using fall flowers and yes fall can be a wonderful time to sell your home and be so very welcoming for home buyers. I don’t know about you, but fall makes me want to be at home!

Everyone loves Apple picking time

We all have our favorite type of apples and of course our favorite places to go apple picking.  There is nothing better than fresh apples, or in my opinion at least, than walking through an Apple Orchard and selecting your own perfect apples.  I love the smells and colors of fall and most of all I love the wonderful fall harvest, fairs and events and I love how all those things can highlight a home and set the home buying mood perfectly.   For a list of all the wonderful places you can go to pick your own apples in NH please click this link >>>  Pick Your Own Apples In NH
