More snow…Oh No!

Can you believe we have another six inches of snow coming tonight. Tomorrow is March 1st and I really think it’s time for spring to make it’s way into my life. How about you…had enough yet?

Florida Vacation

Jay and Barbara McGillicuddyI love posting about our trips and this one is no exception. We took a trip recently and spent some time with Jay’s step mother Barbara McGillicuddy down in Venice, Florida and then with good friends Bill and Nada Marth in Naples Florida. While in Venice we stayed with Barbara and Jay got her all set up with a new laptop and set up a wireless system for her. We had lunch on the water one day and really enjoyed ourselves. We only spent two days in Venice but it gave us enough time to catch up and enjoy each others company.Capri Island

In Naples we stayed at an exclusive RV Resort. Pelican Lake is a Luxury Motor Coach Resort and is something to behold. This was our second stay at Pelican Lake and we “camped” with our friends in their 40 foot Motor Coach. Most of the motor homes at Pelican Lake are very pricey…well into the million dollar category. Pelican Lake like the rest of Florida has seen a decrease in prices. Imagine a 55′ wide by 120′ strip of land with a 20′ wide drive and a 10×10 coach house selling for over $300,000 and then on top of that the individual owners have added lush landscaping and lighting. Now some of those lots are just sitting waiting for a new owner. While there we really enjoyed just kicking back and vegging out and visiting the pool and hot tub daily. We spent my birthday, Valentines Day having dinner by the water on Capri Island, took a day trip to the Keys and then one day we went on an alligator tour. I wanted to see some close up and personal. They’re pretty ugly if you ask me.gator

Wintry Wonderland at Charmingfare in Candia NH

Winter in NHI’m not sure if this is really the last weekend that Charmingfare Farm in Candia New Hampshire will offer their horse drawn sleigh rides like their website claims. But in case it is, you should really consider doing it. It’s been snowing all day (what else is new??) and I’m sure all this fresh snow will make the sleigh ride all the more special. Jay and I did it a few years ago and had a blast. So if you’re looking for a fun thing to do this weekend head on out to Candia and enjoy a great time at Charmingfare Farm. Check out their website for more info…http://www.visitthefarm.com/singlesleigh.php

They are offering two full days to please both racers and spectators alike. Watch as racers twist and turn, jump and bump over hills and around turns all on a 1/3 mile track. Hampstead NH-BeanTowne Coffee House does it again…

BeanTowne Coffee House loves YouHampstead New Hampshire’s BeanTowne Coffee House does it again. A while back we wrote about a New Bean in Town called BeanTowne and met with the owner, Ed Goyette. Ed talked to us about his goal of partnering with the community and how important the community was to him. Since that time we’ve seen just how true to his word Ed is. Throughout the year he has sponsored many fund raising events, donated his time and resources and continually impacted the community and made BeanTowne a community event in itself. Now he has done something unheard of!

Don’t miss this…March 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd ,the stores of the Hampstead Commons Marketplace (BeanTowne, The Prime Butcher, The Wine Steward, and Pentucket Bank) have partnered with Palmer Gas – Ermer Oil to give away 100 gallons of heating oil…that’s right a 100 gallons! How cool is that…no pun intended?

Starting February 23rd, customers of BeanTowne, The Wine Steward, The Prime Butcher, and Pentucket Bank will get a raffle ticket with every transaction or by dropping off a non-perishable food item for a local food pantry. On the event days (march 1, 8, 15, 22), one winner will be drawn for 100 gallons of oil, with 2 runner up winners who will get a prize from the store it was drawn in.

BeanTowne Coffee House, The Wine Steward, The Prime Butcher and Pentucket Bank are located in Hampstead Commons Marketplace will all give customers a free raffle ticket every time they make a purchase OR donate an item for a local food pantry…yes every time! That means go buy a yummy cup of coffee, some fine wine, a piece of choice meat, make a deposit or donate some food items and you could win 100 gallons of heating fuel…sounds easy and who could not use a 100 gallons of fuel this winter? Plus they’ll also be doing wine tasting (I’m in), coffee cupping, and food sampling. Special discounts will also be run during the events. Check out BeanTowne’s website and be sure to watch their Youtube video (www.beantownecoffee.com) which is posted on the site.

See you at The Bean…
