REALTOR Safety Alert

This week we had a Safety Alert go out through the REALTOR community and because I know that many REALTORS as well as consumers read my blog I thought I’d post this video as a reminder to all my peers and anyone selling a home to be careful. It seems as if someone posing as a buyer is trying to get REALTORS to show him houses…empty houses and he claims to be a cash buyer but all his information is false.

Trust your gut….

MEME- It shouldn’t be about ME, but today it is…

I got tagged to write a meme by Blog by the Bay’s… Ginger Wilcox. Are you wondering what in the world a meme is? Well basically, in the blog world, a meme is a question that is asked on one blog and answered on another.
SO in this meme chain, Ginger tagged me and asked me to (1) list 7 things about myself, (2) tag 7 people to do the meme on themselves including a link to their site. It is all in the name of good fun, and probably helps with “transparency” too. So here are 7 random things, all about ME! After all, why else would it be called a Meme.

Monika Mcgillicuddy1. I arrived in the United States when I was 5 years old, after a week and half at sea. I don’t remember much of the trip except the killing of a whale, which was very gross, and when leaving the big ship being in a huge scary hallway. I remember walking along the hallway with what seemed like thousands of other people. I was afraid because I could hear crying up ahead. As we got closer to the end of the line I could see a nurse who had this god awful huge shiny needle. I knew it was meant for me and I tried to escape. No luck … before I could even push at the woman, the huge needle was stuck in my arm! Man did it hurt and I cried, screamed is probably more like it. Welcome to the United States of America. Jackson New Hampshire…Magical Snow Sculptures

YeJackson NH bridgesterday, Jay and I took an impromptu ride up north. Like all real estate agents our schedule often changes, sometimes with very little notice. The beauty of working in Southern New Hampshire is that when you find yourself with a huge hole in your schedule there is always something to fill it with. Yesterday was no exception. I had been wanting to visit Jackson New Hampshire during their Snow Sculpting Competition for a few years now…but never have.

Yesterday was my lucky day!

The Jackson NH Snow Sculpting Competition is a three-day Winter Fest being held in Jackson Town Park in the center of Jackson Village. Jackson is a beautiful little town, with a golf course and lots of unique shops and awesome views. It was a nice ride up and we enjoyed walking around, taking pictures and just being in our beautiful state together.

The final judging is today and I bet the finished snow sculptures will be breathtaking…especially since it’s snowing in New Hampshire today. If you visit Jackson New Hampshire today and you don’t mind sharing I’d love it you could send me some pictures of the finished sculptures…I’d love to post them.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition… New Hampshire Style

“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” New Hampshire will air on Sunday, January 27.How cool is this… ABC has decided to expand their typical one-hour episode to a two-hour special. It seems that they had way too much good New Hampshire footage to leave on the cutting room floor!

Plus to celebrate Jon Lariviere and Reggie Moreau, from RJ Moreau are inviting the entire community, especially everyone who participated in the build and their families, to come and watch the show live on the JumboTron at Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.Admission is free, plus in addition to the show, there will be special guests, raffles and other activities, including a behind-the-scenes documentary on the volunteers who made this happen.

The doors open at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at approximately 6:45. It will be general seating, so plan on arriving early.

Let’s all help show ABC and the nation just how special New Hampshire is!

Everyone is invited so let’s fill the arena! They are asking that all those who volunteered please wear their blue shirts so that they can be recognized.

Jay and I plan on attending…it should be an awesome night!

Too busy to check your messages??

Unreachable AgentI’m gonna vent a little.I know my southern New Hampshire real estate market has picked up tremendously in the last few weeks…which is a very very good thing BUT not to the point that an agent should feel comfortable blowing off a co-broke request for an appointment. I mean give me a break!

The other day I had three appointments scheduled to show the next day. Two of the three homes went under agreement, which is a very positive sign of an improving market, so I searched in MLS to see what else was available and noticed a new listing that would meet my clients needs. I called the listing office, it was around 11:30 in the morning. I went into the listing agents voice mail, where I left a detailed message so that only one call needed to be made to me by that agent… a call confirming my appointment. [Read more...]
