The wicked gets whacked!

$11 million verdict Wednesday against a fundamentalist Kansas church ….Some of you may remember my blog post about when Hate came to my town of Hampstead New Hampshire and the impact that had on me and on my community.

To watch first hand as hate was directed to my community and it’s people, in particular the family of one of our fallen war heroes captain Jonathan Grassbaugh was devastating.

I could not believe these people from a so called church in Kansas would come to my town and stand on my street corner carrying such hate filled signs and chanting such sick phrases. But they did. I couldn’t believe they had the right to…but they did.

Spooky Thrills and Yummy Candy… 2007

Visit here for the 2008 Halloween schedule

I wish I was still a little kid because I absolutely love Halloween!

I love watching the little kids walk up the driveway…listening to them laugh in excitement.

I remember spending hours sorting through candy when my kids were little…sometimes sneaking my favorite pieces of candy out of their bags. LOL…sometimes I got caught doing it and my sons, Marty and Mikey would make a big deal out of mom stealing their precious candy.

I used to dress up to hand out candy…Scare all the kids who rang my doorbell. It was a blast! Read more

Neat tool for homeowners and buyers!

Curious about where your property is in relation to the FEMA map? I’m not going to go out on a limb and say this is 100% accurate but it is pretty close. Since this is the government FEMA site…if you are listed in a flood zone you’d be better off knowing about it now. Or maybe you want to look up that home you’re thinking about buying. In any case this is a cool tool and it’s free!
Check out the FEMA Maps online. You can zoom in and check out an area all for free.

Free is good in my opinion.

New Hampshire real estate rapist appeal denied

The New Hampshire Supreme court has rejected an appeal by the man known as the “New Hampshire real estate rapist”

The traveling salesman from Maine was convicted this past May. He apparently posed as a home buyer…gained entry and then raped a 19 year old woman by knife point. This story has sent chills up spines of many real estate agents and is one anyone considering selling their home on their own should be aware of. I’m not trying to scare anyone but you should all be aware  that something like this can happen.

No texting while driving?

A New Hampshire law maker has filed paperwork for a bill that would make it illegal to type a text message and type on a laptop computer while driving your car. When I read this I immediately had to agree and wondered what took so long. Have you ever tried to text while driving? I really hate to admit it but I have and it is not something that anyone should do. No matter how well you can work your thumbs !

I think it’s bad enough that we routinely talk on the phone while driving and even read e-mails downloaded to a handheld. How can you really concentrate on driving and the potential road hazards when your eyes are elsewhere…never mind your mind being elsewhere!    I’ll be curious to see what happens with this bill…it was filed by Nashua Democrat David Campbell.

A very nice welcome home…

We arrived home from a road trip to Pennsylvania for the Ohio State -Penn State football game today and one of the things I found waiting for me in my mail box was a link to this article.
It was written by Midori Miller on her Daytona Real Estate Trainer Blog. Midori is a talented trainer and a wonderful person. She works for a Century 21 office down in Florida as a company trainer.
I feel very honored that she chose me to share in her special achievement of 100,000 blogging points on the Active Rain Social Real Estate Network. She included me as well as 2 others in her post marking this achievement.
